Client called in today, and he couldn't get connected to the diagnostics on Cummins engine. The customer had found the 9-pin, round port to connect to, but kept receiving error messages about not being able to connect.

For Cummins engines, you will always find a triangle shaped 3-pin connector. Every Cummins engine, regardless of application, will have this connection. In this case, the manufacturer of the air compressor, Sullair, was either not using the 9-pin or had it wired up for machine diagnostics. To access engine diagnostics, we had the client plug in the 3-pin Cummins cable, which is labeled T50 for TEXA. Once that was done, it worked just fine.

Keep in mind with the TEXA software that when you first attempt to connect to equipment that it shows you the possible cable options (As shown in the image). This should be the first clue that there might be another diagnostic port to connect to on the machine, as they often have more then one.
